Applying an ice pack on your neck will help reduce the inflammation. Put some crushed ice in a towel and place it on your neck for about 15 minutes at a time. Repeat this two to three times a day. Ensure that you don’t apply the ice directly on your neck.
Applying a heat pad or a hot towel or a hot bottle on your neck will increase the circulation and ease the stiffness. Use this heat pad as much as you can bear it. Don’t overdo it as this may aggravate the pain.
This is a simple home remedy that you can try at home under the shower. The force of the water from the shower will help reduce the pain and soreness. Stand under the shower in such a way that warm water targets the affected area for three to four minutes. Similarly switch to cold water for 30 to 60 second. Repeat this till you feel some sort of a relief. The hot water will effectively increase circulation and the cold water will reduce inflammation thus easing neck pain.
