Even though I’m not a morning person by nature, I enjoy getting up early in the morning. I remember that terrible time when I couldn’t wake up early without wanting to cry and smash my alarm clock to smithereens. Until, in time, I understood that waking up early is the key to a positive day and a happy life. Numerous studies show that most famous and successful people are early risers. Unfortunately, I can’t add more hours to my day, but I know that I can benefit from using these 24 hours properly. Getting up at 6 a.m. each day may be a cruel thing, but it’s worth the effort. Without further ado, here are several reasons I get up at 6 a.m. each day, even on the weekends.
Most successful people use early morning hours to exercise before their family members get up and their working day starts. Yoga is the very first thing I do after waking up in the morning. I’ve been practicing yoga for several years, but only getting up early gave me the chance to understand the essence of yoga practice. Early morning yoga provides me with a quick energy boost and helps me clear my mind. I believe regular yoga practice is a sure way to live a longer and healthier life. However, you can start you day with any other exercises. Opt for cycling, swimming or jogging and you will see and feel the difference!
Take a shower
I know it sounds strange, but morning shower is the key to an efficient working day. Not only does it help me to wake up after my morning exercises, but also stimulates my brain and boosts my mood. It was difficult for me to take a shower early in the morning at first, but now I really enjoy it! I usually use an invigorating and cleansing shower gel that leaves my skin clean and soft with a fresh scent. I know it’s hard to jump out of your warm, lovely bed and feel the sharp splashes of water, but once you try it, you will make a habit of it!
Early morning is a wonderful time for organizing my workplace, planning my day and setting the most important goals. Since I work from home, I usually use this precious morning quiet to think over my tasks and manage my time effectively so that I can get everything done on time. I’ve noticed that the first few hours after getting up are the most productive hours of my day. Early morning hours are also a great time to read a good book or check my email. Every time I have a difficult task to accomplish, I always do it in the morning. It helps me to avoid excess tension throughout the day.
Eat a healthy breakfast
The habit of having a healthy breakfast each day is actually a good habit since it’s the most important meal of the day. The saying, “A sound mind in a sound body” is well-known to almost everyone and eating regularly and healthy is one of the critical factors of a sound body. Nevertheless, most people complain of having no time in the morning for cooking. Getting up at 6 a.m. enables me to prepare a healthy meal and not to have it on the run. Another thing I hear very often is that many people feel sick in the morning and the last thing they want to do is to have breakfast. I should say that this is the main reason to start eating in the morning! Our body essentially needs to stick to a certain eating plan and when we develop our self-discipline and organize our time, we feel much more cheerful and better. Yogurt, fruits, oatmeal and omelet are all great breakfast options.
It’s a great time for DIY projects
When it comes to weekends, the first thing we usually think about is sleeping till noon. However Saturday early hours are the perfect time you can devote to your hobbies, gardening, reading books or whatever you love. I am craft junkie and I love to do some DIY projects on my weekends. Since I have a very busy schedule, morning hours are seemingly the only period I can enjoy my hobby. Moreover, in the morning I am unusually spurred and cheered to create and make beautiful things!
I can say with confidence that the habit of getting up at 6 a.m. has changed my life for better. Now I understand that being an early riser is the cornerstone of my success. I always remember that laziness prevents most people from doing their business effectively and I always try to stay productive no matter what.
