The three yoga moves below are subtle enough to truly do anywhere.
1. Chair Twist
There’s nothing like a spinal twist to get some tension out, and you can do this sitting in any chair. You’ll just look like you’re checking out something behind you. If you want to take this down a notch, you can move your arm around to the back of the chair without sweeping it parallel to the floor. Just adjust once you’re in the twist, so that you feel a comfortable stretch in your back and along the side of your body.
2. Hamstring Stretch
To make this a little bit more subtle, just roll your chair up to your desk or the table, so your legs are underneath. Stretch along the top of the desk. Maybe you’re just reaching for a pen or your phone.
3. Deep Breathing
Deep breathing is at the heart of any yoga practice. Chances are, if you’re trying to do some yoga on the fly, what you really need is stress relief.
Some yogic breathing is more obvious than others. The first breathing technique in this video is totally doable at your desk. Just place your feet on the floor, and sit with your back straight. Focus on a point far away if you don’t want to close your eyes. You can even soften your gaze and look at your computer screen for ultimate stealth.
