An open road, a car and three friends! Sounds like the plot of Dil Chahta Hai, right? But that’s how Bhairav Kuttaiah, Binoy John and Sunaina Pamudurthy are taking the plot from reel life to real life. The three friends are all set to participate in the adventurous Mongol rally, that begins in London and ends in Mongolia. The Mongol Rally is said to be the greatest motoring adventure on the planet. It is about getting lost, raising shed-loads of cash for charity, and scraping past the finish line with the vehicle in tatters but a big grin smeared across your face.
The rally has three important rules
a) You can only take a small vehicle
b) You will have to raise money for charity
c) You’re on your own
The trio will be driving over 10,000 miles across borders and will be raising money for MAD (Making a Difference Foundation). They will be on the road for two months and will be competing against 179 other teams, from all over the world. The teams will have to cross 17 countries, 3 deserts, and 5 mountain ranges, which is going to be extremely trying. The rally will begin on July 17th and will get over by September 12th. The road map the participants will follow? UK – France – Spain – Italy – Switzerland – Austria- Germany – Czech Republic – Poland – Lithuania – Belarus – Russia – Mongolia.
Here’s wishing the trio all the best on this trip of a lifetime.
